- Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
- This is a flyer we did for a walk to New York City as part of the global movement to abolish nuclear weapons.
We used photoshop to create a lot of the images as a way of creating our flyer to have its message in pictures as well as text.
- What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
- We were looking at the connections between nuclear power, uranium mining and nuclear weapons. Educating people on the whole nuclear fuel chain and the environmental damage that this is causing.
- How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
- We had over 2000 people participate over the two months we were on the walk. When we arrived in New York City we gave a presentation at the United Nations which was holding the NPT (nuclear non proliferation treaty review conference) We also were able to get alot of media and connect with alot of young people and schools to give presentations. This was driven by the response we received from this flyer that was distributed widley through the communities we walked through.
