Festival Players of Prince Edward County Visitor Information Sheet

Organization Name:
Festival Players of Prince Edward County
City & State:
Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
The creative piece that we would like to submit is a patron info sheet that is printed out and distributed to all local accommodations (Inns, B&B's, etc.) and inserted into their “community binders”. The info sheet was created to make a foolproof way for visitors to become familiar with us and to come to our shows. The sheet includes all pertinent info: show synopsis, full schedule, show times, ticket prices, venues, box office contact and location, etc. We think it’s a pretty great and innovative tool because it's printed out and hand delivered to all the places where visitors/patrons stay and into the hands of who attends our shows, it includes all the information one would need to get tickets and find us. It's direct marketing that’s effective and very inexpensive. Considering we are not-for-profit, inexpensive is good for us.
What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
The issue we were working to address with this piece was to bring in a larger group of visitor's to our shows this year and to make sure visitor's know we're here. Prince Edward County sees thousands and thousands of visitors each summer, and we want them to come to our shows. By including our information sheet in the community binders of the local accommodations we increase our chances of this greatly, considering before we never included anything. And once people find out we're here and the kind of theatre we present, they get interested.
How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
Last year was the first year we implemented the info. sheet and last year we saw a 50% increase in ticket sales and noticed a significant increase in the visitor traffic to the Box Office and to the shows. And we expect to see an increase in ticket sales this year as well. To date we have sold 230 Flex Passes (Flex Pass - paid theatre subscription) for our 2010 season compared to our 78 Flex Passes from 2009.
