- Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
- Poster to announce the Classics Dance Ballet fundraiser for the Centre. I call it steppin' out because of the implication of past to present, growth for the students and statement of perfection gained from the journey.
- What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
- I am not a young person with the latest technology. Creating the visual with CS2 and the necessary impact of the smoke I wanted was difficult (for me) to produce with some meaning. Many renditions to tie in the eye, the motion and the three dimensional effect was trial and error with hours of attempts behind it. To complicate matters, the picture I had to use was of very low quality and extremely pix-elated, I had to find a way to make it work. The forefront leg represents hundreds of Gaussian blurs done in small sections to create the feel of semi reality and proper high-lighting. I don't have a tablet so brushing was not an option with a mouse.
- How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
- I have been creating 'wild and crazy' things for Kezia over ten years now. You may see some of it on the front page of the website.
