- Describe your creative piece – what is it and what has it been used for, and why is it innovative?
- We created our annual report as a tool to help citizens in our city know who we are and what we do. We believe that everyone has a role to play in making our city, Bellflower, a better place. The Annual Report breaks down the ways we serve at different levels in our community and shows the reader how to get involved.
- What issue or problem were you working to address with this piece?
- Often citizens in our city want to get involved, but don't know where to start. They think that serving food to a homeless neighbor is the only way to care for the poor in the community. We wanted to display all the different opportunities through our organization to serve in Bellflower, CA. Most of the programs/initiatives are volunteer led.
- How has your submission successfully impacted your organization’s ability to solve this issue/problem?
- Volunteers have been passing our Annual Report out to their neighbors, co-workers and friends because they're proud of the work they're a part of. We've increased the number of people volunteering in our city as a result.
